Fall Decorations in the Mountains

Happy Fall
2014
Every October we try to visit the mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee.  I love to take my camera and try to capture some of the pretty sights of Fall.  We never know what we will find "just around the bend."

The following photos were taken all along the way from Robbinsville, North Carolina and on into Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Bumpy pumpkins seen for sale in a pumpkin patch along Highway 321,
just outside of Pigeon Forge in Tennessee.

A cheerful Fall display outside of the Robbinsville City Hall in North Carolina.

In the below photo is one of the many Mall displays in the  Five Oaks Outlet Mall
in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Traveling along Highway 321 from Pigeon Forge, on toward Wears Valley,
Tennessee,  we spotted this very nicely decorated old truck.

Also along the very scenic Highway 321 from Pigeon Forge into Wears Valley we spotted this very interesting pumpkin patch.  They had all types of pumpkins for sale, plus many colorful gourds.

In the below photo is a very unusual pumpkin appropriately called a "peanut" pumpkin.

Aren't they so unusual!

The folks at the pumpkin patch told me this was a porcelain pumpkin.

An adorable Fall display outside of the Apple Valley Country Store in Townsend, Tennessee.

Leaving Apple Valley Country Store in Wears Valley, Tennessee and heading west on Highway 321, we drove into the little town of Walland, Tennessee.  I just had to get a photo of the pretty Fall display just outside of the Blackberry Farm.

BLACKBERRY FARM
Walland, Tennessee

Since it was close to the route we were taking, we went looking for BLACKBERRY FARM. I read a write-up about this beautiful resort in Southern Living a couple of years ago.   Since we were not staying at this resort we were unable to  drive in and take photos.  This is truly an amazing place to stay and to visit.  If you are as curious as I was, you may want to check out the BLACKBERRY FARM website which is included below:
During our trip to the mountains this October I thoroughly enjoyed pulling out my camera time after time trying to capture the sights and the beauty all around us.  In upcoming posts I will share some of the many interesting places we saw along the way ...  Please do join us next time if you can.

I hope that you too have had a very nice month of October and have enjoyed the beauty of Fall wherever you may be.
