Hello Everyone! What a special day this is when Ash Wednesday falls on the same date as Valentine's Day. I can't remember that ever happening in the past.
My sweet Valentine was so special and thoughtful this year by sending roses several days in advance. He said he wanted me to have the beautiful roses to enjoy during the days leading up to Valentine's Day and beyond.
Of course, I had to try to capture these beautiful flowers with my camera so they would last forever.
For Valentine's Day it is so nice to receive the traditional and beautiful
red roses that symbolize love, beauty, courage and respect.
Roses truly are one of the most perfectly beautiful things on this earth and they smell heavenly too.
And, as you can see there were lovely white roses mixed in with the red. The white roses symbolize true love, reverence, charm and are considered the traditional wedding flower.
What a special day this is where everywhere we see flowers, Cupid, hearts, chocolates, cards and love is in the air everyplace we go.
As I mentioned earlier and as we already know, this year Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday are celebrated on the same day.
Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent which lasts 40 days and ends with Easter Sunday. On this day many different faiths go to church and receive ashes in the shape of a cross reminding us that we are dust, and to dust we shall return.
During Lent we often hear folks talk about fasting or what they will be giving up.
The other day I came across the list seen below with these inspiring words ...
Wishing you a most wonderful and very Happy Valentine's Day
and a special Ash Wednesday wherever you may be.
